COVID-19 Practice Update

We’re all struggling with difficult decisions during a tumultuous time. Based on the recommendations of the American Dental Association, as well as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the SCDA, the CDC, and OSHA, we have decided that the practice will be temporarily closed. This decision is an important step to protect our patients, staff, and everyone’s families from the spread of the coronavirus. If your child has a scheduled appointment during the time, my team will contact you to reschedule.

The latest information indicates that dental professionals are in the “very high exposure risk” category of COVID-19. Dental procedures generate a large number of droplets and aerosols, such that preventive measures may not be effective enough to prevent transmission. This is especially true as we’ve learned that children are often asymptomatic carriers and screening for sick patients won’t be effective.

In Case of Emergency

If your child is a patient of ours and has a dental emergency, please call (843) 209-0655 so we can assist you before going to the emergency room. For patients that haven’t been seen by our practice in the last 12 months, please call (843) 792-3365 in the event of an emergency.

We appreciate your understanding. Know that we are committed to the safety and you and your family.
