Your 2016 Christmas Gift Guide

Santa leaving presents

You might have waited until the last minute to start your holiday shopping, but we can help you pull through with the best gifts for the whole family. We’ve got the top picks for everyone that made the nice list, as well as some personal wish list favorites from some of us at the practice.

Best Gifts for the Ladies

Cast Iron – Now in Color!

Your cast iron cookware is great to cook with, but it’s not always so great to look at. Fortunately, you can pick up cast iron pots and pans that are protected with a colorful enamel, which has the added benefit of making maintenance and cleaning a snap!

A Turntable

Yes, one of the hottest gifts this year is the record player. You may have thought that we’d be streaming music out of our eyelids by now, but instead, 2016 introduced a big return to vinyl. New turntables have updated options like Bluetooth, digital conversions, and USB hookups. They also play records.

Kindle

Kindles (and the subsequent books that go with them) are a great gift for the reader in your life. Specifically, the Kindle Paperwhite models are meant for reading, much more comfortable and optimized for reading her favorite novel than a tablet screen would be.

Top Buys for the Guys

Nintendo Classic

These are hard to track down right now due to high demand, but they are so, so worth it. Nintendo has re-released their legendary 1985 console in a slightly-updated and more compact version to work with your modern television. The NES Classic comes with 30 of your favorite games and it’s only $59.99 retail. Just about any guy would love it, assuming you can find one.

Quadcopter Drone

Faster than you could say “NSA”, 2016 brought us loads of affordable drones for the boys to play with. From stunt piloting to aerial photography, there is a drone for every budget and skill level.

Virtual Reality

Our world might be flipped on its head by the virtual reality storm. Media just became much more interactive, and you can explore the universe, play games, or simply watch movies in a way that you might not have imagined would be possible. Even better, it’s easy to access the VR market as many devices simply utilize the power of your smartphone.

Think of the children!

Hatchimals

The Hatchimal is this year’s Tickle-Me-Elmo. It’s some sort of combination between a Tamagotchi and a Furby. Hatchimals begin inside an egg, which will hatch after receiving enough attention from their new owners. Children can then raise the mystery creature as it grows up. These are the hot toy of the year, and are in short supply nationwide.

LEGO Star Wars

Two of our favorite things become even greater when they combine forces. LEGO’s are always a safe bet (don’t kid yourself, you want to play with these too), but the new LEGO Star Wars
releases are a home run.

The Land of Stories

In Chris Colfer’s Land of Stories, two children escape into the world of fairy tales in Narnia-like fashion. The protagonists share their adventures with popular characters such as Cinderella, Snow White, and Mother Goose, as they try and find a way back home to their world. Colfer is setting himself up to be the defining author for this generation of children.

Still Need Something at the Last Minute?

Many people have said their electric toothbrush is the best gift they’ve ever received. Why do they say that? It’s something nice that they will use every day for years, and will be a serious upgrade from manual toothbrushes.

In addition to brushing and flossing, professional dental cleaning is a great way to keep your family’s teeth in tip-top shape.
